Credit Expert Review

The online credit check and rating services provided by credit expert are one of the three main credit reporting agencies in the UK to provide such services. Now you can use their online website and sign up for a free 30 day trial to check to see what information they hold about you together with your credit rating score. The online services are really easy to use and to not only see who is looking at your file and history it's a good idea to check your report each month to prevent identity theft as well. So what do the services at creditexpert.co.uk have and how can you use them ?

creditexpert at a glance

This is one of the main reporting agencies and the creditexpert online service is an easy way to access data held by Experian who provide credit reporting to many of the major lenders in the UK. Lenders use one of the three main credit reporting companies although the information held by all of them should roughly be the same sometimes there is different data on each. That's unfortunate for the consumer who just wants to know who is checking their file and if the information is correct. So checking each file is useful (although there are services that can check all three at once for the same monthly fee).

With credit expert you'll be able to see each type of loan you have outstanding, the lender's name, when it started together with the current balance. When a new lending is deciding how much to lend you (especially with a new credit card) they will be able to see the credit limits you already have and how much debt you owe. This means when they ask you questions about "other loans" they already know. They also know if you have ever missed any payments - even just the monthly minimum amount and this is also on your credit report history.

There is more information held such as information from the electoral roll, any aliases you may have, people you are financially connected with, public record data such as CCJs, IVAs and bankruptcies, who has searched on your file over the past 12 months together with a credit rating number.

If you haven't tried their service then it is worth it for the 30 day trial. If you decide to continue your membership then you also now receive free identity theft protection insurance.

How to cancel credit expert

Perhaps some people don't realise that it's a 30 day free trial (although this is clearly mentioned on their website) and if you do want to cancel before the 30 days are up or during your membership then this is easy. To cancel within the first 14 days of signing up simply send an email to membership@creditexpert.co.uk with the nature of your cancellation. This is the standard "cooling off" period for any new financial contract. After this date or even before if you feel the need you can contact customer services on 0800 561 0083 (Mon-Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 9am-1pm, Sun closed) or write to them at PO BOX 7710, Nottingham, NG80 7WE - be sure to make a note of when you cancelled and if you wrote to them keep a copy of your letter and when it was posted.
